A few years ago I had no idea how affiliate marketing worked. I had just started my own online business. I was completely clueless about what I was supposed to be doing. I had no clue how to promote my business properly. My knowledge of the internet was very primitive.
Now I do know how affiliate marketing works, but I really wasn’t sure how it helped my online business. So I searched to see what results I could get by looking up the internet. I was astonished at what I found out. I read many forums and message boards that had thousands of posts each. Hundreds of discussions each. Hundreds of pages of posts each. There was some discussion about the people who were posting and participating in the forums, how did they have so much knowledge; was it from experience that they had so much knowledge or was it that they had been social engineered by a marketing guru into thinking that knowledge was power? I think the power to earn was more accurate.
I decided to try my hand at affiliate marketing. I decided to pick an established brand of product to sell. I figured that since I didn’t understand how affiliate marketing works, that it was going to be an awfully difficult thing to do. I was dead wrong.
It really wasn’t. My first attempt, I couldn’t make it work with it either. My first attempt, I didn’t really know how to promote it. So I gave up and then I tried again with a new brand. It worked. This time I made it work for my online business.
Today, I really know how affiliate marketing works and how to promote it so it works for my online business. I think I have a good handle on it. So I decided to write an article that explains how to promote an online business so it works for you too.
